Designed to meet the pressing demands for a new generation of Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), LNETN stands out as the first European Training Network (ETN) that integrates the concepts of newness, legitimation, and theory building. Its mission is to equip researchers with a comprehensive quadruple-i knowledge—interdisciplinary, inter-sectoral, inter-technology, and international—paired with transferable skills and a broad vision, essential for addressing complex modern challenges.

LNETN directly aligns with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) European Training Networks (ETN) objectives, focusing on the vital need for innovative legitimation perspectives, theories, and methodologies. This initiative is not just about understanding and responding to newness but is committed to ensuring a significant social impact through its endeavors.

The project sets up a unique research and training network within the social sciences and economics domain, extending its applications across science, engineering, technology, health, and the humanities. It aims to create a top-tier research platform that offers training to 15 ESRs, concentrating on the legitimation of newness and theory building. This focus is intended to enhance the interpretation and understanding of complex phenomena, ultimately revolutionizing effective decision-making and policy implementation, contributing significantly to economic development.
