I recently started a postdoctoral position at Halmstad University in the AIR Project (Artificial Intelligence in Radiology).
Our goal is to create an AI “co-pilot” that helps radiologists make quantitative assessments of lung diseases. By combining CT images with lab data, we aim to give doctors objective measurements of how a disease evolves over time, supporting earlier and more precise treatment decisions.
The project is a collaboration between Sweden and Brazil, with researchers, hospitals and industry partners working closely together, and it is funded by Vinnova.
Being part of such an international and interdisciplinary team is an exciting chance to learn from different fields and to see how AI can be translated into real healthcare benefits.

Recently, the team received a prize that recognizes this work and shows the potential impact of what we are building at the 1st Brazilian Congress of Artificial Intelligence in Health, held on August 27–28 in Brazil.
We presented two ongoing papers from the AIR Project, and we are happy to share that one of them was awarded 1st place for oral presentation, with a perfect score.
